PFSQ Forestry Workshops
If you’re interested in operating native forest management on your property or know someone who does, why not join Sean Ryan and his team at PFSQ as they run their 5-day workshop series. Together with Better Burnett, the next 5-day workshop will be held 1 day a fortnight commencing 13th Feb 2008.The workshop is to be held at Cameron & Heather Ross’ property: 76 Neaavie Rd, Booubyjan (7km from Murgon-Gayndah T-intersection on Burnett Hwy towards Gayndah)
The Farmbiz Accredited workshops cover the following topics:
· BMRG Thinning Incentive program
· Veg Management Act and the Code of Practice
· Stand assessment and optimum tree stocking Rates
· Forest condition, tree health and individual property work plan
· Chemical thinning processes
· Tree density and GLM outcomes
· Product specifications
· Contractors, contracts, standing sales, log dump sale, mill gate sale
· Contractor management (accreditation, insurance, reputation)
· Timber harvesting, values, product range
· Post harvest management (Fire, stand protection, removal of temporary crossings, track and dump drainage)
· Regeneration from seed, lignotuber or coppice, establishment, management and protection
· Includes diameter tape, log volume tables, forest management guides, Fire Management guide, Product specifications and Code of Practice
Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch supplied
Cost for 5 days: $230.00 per Farm Enterprise after Farmbiz subsidy
